The SPADE open source platform is currently hosted by Eclipse Research Labs (ERL), an instance of GitLab hosted in Europe. This instance provides a solid framework for collaboration and open innovation. As such, ERL contributes to :

1. Open collaboration framework: ERL hosts the research project code and documentation, ensuring transparency and accessibility to all project contributors, including researchers, developers and stakeholders. It also hosts the code for use cases and projects resulting from open calls.
2. Community development: Leveraging its position within the Eclipse Foundation ecosystem, the ERL fosters links between industry, academia and the open source community, sharing knowledge and accelerating the development of SPADE tools and methodologies.
3. Sustainability and openness: The ERL ensures the long-term sustainability of SPADE’s results by adhering to open source principles, making the project’s results reusable, adaptable and accessible to the wider community. In this way, the code is prepared for a possible IP review by checking that the copyright is correctly indicated and that the licenses of the libraries used are compatible.
4. Standardisation and integration: ERL promotes interoperability by aligning SPADE developments with open standards and best practice, paving the way for scalable adoption.

Eventually, when the project consortium decides to do so, the code will be migrated as an Eclipse project, opening up this solution to a wider audience by building on the reputation for quality and reliability of Eclipse open source projects.
